PCHS High School


A student seeking admission to classes VI, VII, VIII, and IX at Punjab Central High Schools has to appear for a compulsory Admission Test in the subjects of Urdu, Maths, English, and General Science of the previous class he attended. The admission to class X (if seats are available) is decided on the basis of class IX Board results.


Passing marks are 40% in the Admission Test (in each of the above mentioned subjects).

For admission to Class X, students must secure at least 33% marks in class IX (Board Exam).

All Hafez Quran students are exempt from the entrance exam until the eighth grade. However, students must be literate in English and Urdu. He/she should also know the basics of mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

PCHS High SCHOOL

Parents and students are advised to study all rules and regulations carefully. They must adhere to these rules in all respects. It is obligatory for all to abide by these rules. Violation of these rules may lead to the expulsion of a student/parents from the school.

  • All students are instructed to reach school in time.
  • No student shall be allowed to attend classes without proper school uniform.
  • The person who escorts a child from school should show the school I.D card on the school gate for security reasons.
  • Proper school uniform is compulsory for admission to class-room.
  • Students are required to be punctual and reach school well in time.
  • Students are not allowed to stand outside or in front of the school or to roam about the premises.
  • Students are expected to demonstrate best manners.
  • The school premises, classrooms and surroundings must be kept neat and clean.
  • Students are strictly prohibited to write on walls and the white boards.
  • Students should not touch the electronic installations and appliances.
  • Attendance in class tests is compulsory. In case of absence, the student shall have to appear in the supplementary test.
  • Supplementary tests are countable in class percentage of a student but these marks are not valid for the monthly class position scholarship.
  • Minimum pass percentage required to pass a class test is 40%.
  • As per Board rules, 80% attendance is must for Board admission.
  • After entering the campus, the student must mark his attendance through a thumb impression on the biometric system. Otherwise, a system generated “absent message” will be sent to their parents.
  • The display of the school identity card on the uniform is compulsory during the school hours.
  • Students must focus on moral and ethical values.
  • Students are advised to pay full attention to the teachers’ lecture in the class.
  • Discipline in the school premises must be maintained by all means.
  • Instructions and notices issued by the Director or the Principal should be followed strictly.
  • The Clerical Staff, Security Guard and the Office Management Staff render commendable services to the students. Therefore, they deserve due regard from the students.
  • Girls are not allowed to bring jewellery to school.
  • Extension in fee can only be granted twice in a session with prior approval of the principal within the current month.


Refund Policy

PCHS is the only institution that offers fee-refund as per PCHS policy. If a student applies for a fee refund within three working days of admission, he/she shall be refunded 100%. (Fee Refund Policy is available at the Admission Office).


Scholarship

A remarkable feature of PUNJAB CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL (PCHS) is to reward students with scholarships who keep up good work and improve their previous result in their respective grade and section. PCHS High School ensures provision of quality education to children. The award of scholarships is aimed at creating and maintaining a competitive atmosphere among students. Following is a brief description of scholarships offered to children from class V onwards at all PCHS High Schools:

Make-Up Classes

Make-Up Classes are especially conducted for those students who joined the academic session either a little late or missed the lectures for any reason. These classes help them learn more about the lectures in hand and to complete the syllabus in time. Make-up classes are meant for the students who join the academic session late and these classes help them learn the missed syllabus and catch-up with the rest of the section without any difficulty or burden on the parents.

Remedial Classes

Remedial classes play an important role preferably to suggest a remedy against weaknesses in studies. PCHS has a comprehensive system of remedial classes at all levels. It has always been the professional trait of PCHS to launch remedial classes exclusively for the students of Matric and intermediate levels as they become able to overcome their deficiencies to achieve excellent grades in their final internal and external examinations.

Special Lectures

Special Lectures retain a major educational role because they exploit evolved aspects of human nature to make learning easier. These lectures are delivered to the high achievers and position holders to further enhance their intellect and learn the prompts on how to attempt the papers to do well in the examinations. At PCHS, the services of the Subject Specialists, Senior Professors, past paper-setters, and examiners are invited to deliver lectures to Punjab Central High schools and colleges to pour down their experiences to the students so that they may score maximum marks in the Board examinations.


Extra-Curricular Activities

Extra-curricular activities are the ones sponsored by a school that are not part of the academic curriculum but are acknowledged to be an essential part of the life of an educational institution. Extracurricular activities are part and parcel of PCHS in which the students are exposed to various activities like Speech Contests, Debates, Music, Dramas, Exhibitions, Seminars, Outdoor pursuits, Arts and Science clubs, Farewells, Annual Day, Skits, etc. Extra-curricular activities are also an integral part of PCHS . It is compulsory for a student to take part in any of the activities as laid down in the Annual Schedule of Activities.



Science Labs

PCHS has established a state-of-the-art laboratory apparatus for conducting experiments for students according to the standard set by the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. Experienced science teachers and laboratory attendants guide students in conducting experiments in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to help them prepare for final experiments.


Computer Labs

To meet the requirements of the modern era, well-equipped computer labs are available for the students to sharpen their IT skills.



Library

Libraries are the cornerstones of healthy societies. They encourage students' reading habits and become valuable sources of information. PCHS has established the best library in its network providing books on a variety of subjects. In addition to monthly, quarterly and bimonthly books, dictionaries, magazines and reference materials are also available for interested readers to develop and expand their skills and learning horizons.
